Butterfly Park

Rangeview’s newest amenity space – Butterfly Park - Coming Summer 2023!

Butterfly Park is located at the corner of Heirloom Way and Heirloom Blvd and is one of the many greenspaces in Rangeview that will be owned and operated by the Rangeview Homeowners Association. Located just north of the new townhomes in Rangeview, Butterfly Park is an outdoor gathering space where residents of Rangeview can relax while taking in the gentle buzz of pollinators.

The construction of Butterfly Park is underway and is projected to be completed in mid- to late August. The park will feature a Pergola and outdoor seating for the community to gather. A pathway that meanders through Butterfly Park allows patrons to stroll through and take in the thoughtfully planned series of garden beds. Within these garden beds we’ll be planting a diverse array of hardy perennials, shrubs, and trees. Each of the species that we’re growing in Butterfly Park has been carefully selected to provide pollinators with a consistent source of nectar.

Butterfly Park will serve as a habitat corridor and rich well of food for the highly essential insect and aviary species that we rely on to pollinate the crops that we’re growing in Rangeview. Alongside the pollinators, the residents of Rangeview will also see bountiful harvests from Butterfly Park. From Saskatoon berries, currants, gooseberries, honeyberries and prairie cherries to apples, pears, and plums, once the gardens in Butterfly Park are established, we will be able to harvest beautiful prairie hardy fruits and berries.

We’ll be installing a pollinator hotel within Butterfly Park. Pollinator hotels and bee houses are important structures to include in garden spaces as they create safe spaces within urban areas for our pollinators to make nests and lay their offspring. Butterfly Park will also tout its own wireless internet connection. We’re putting a wireless network router inside the toolshed on site that will allow patrons of the park to connect to the internet and work, stream, and connect while they enjoy the outdoors. '
